Party in the parking lot and say “Aloha” to winter at Central Standard’s Winter Luau from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 25 at 320 E. Clybourn St. The winter luau features chef Aaron Patin’s (formerly of the Iron Grate) barbecue pulled pork, two homestyle sides and cornbread.

The luau ticket includes one cocktail made from Central Standard spirits, including the Rye Tai (Washington rye, orgeat, pineapple juice, lemon juice and Angostura bitters); the Painkiller (North Wisconsin Brandy, coconut cream, pineapple juice, orange juice and nutmeg); and the Bradford Beachcomber (Guided Trail Gin, Triple Sec and pineapple juice).

A limited-number of early-bird tickets are available for $35. On Feb. 20 tickets will sell for $45; and they're $50 on the day of the event. Part of the proceeds will support the Milwaukee Police Foundation. Visit thecentralstandard.com/luau/

Wisconsin maple syrup breakfasts planned at River Bend

Celebrate the maple sugar harvest at River Bend Nature Center in Racine with a stack of pancakes during “Sugarin’ Off” breakfasts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday in March. All-you-can-eat pancakes are topped with Wisconsin maple syrup and served with sausage, orange juice, coffee, tea or milk.

The price is $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. Before or after your breakfast, stroll the sugarbush and observe how sugar maple trees are tapped, and how the sap is reduced to syrup in the wood-burning evaporator.
