Maplewood Rolls Out Registry For Artists, Art Organizations

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Artists, along with professionals and organizations in the arts, now have another venue to showcase and promote their work.

The Township of Maplewood's Division of Arts & Culture announced its new Arts Registry will act as a virtual hub for online networking, allowing artists to promote their work and locals and businesses to find talented artists for ongoing projects.

The registry comes complete with a searchable directory in Maplewood and South Orange.

The directory is free for individual artists and organizations to use and will be promoted throughout the state of New Jersey, the township announced in a news release.

Victor de Luca, a Maplewood committeman and the township's liaison to the arts council, said the registry confirms the town's commitment to the arts.

“The Arts Registry will showcase the myriad of diverse, local, hometown talent, and further connect our neighborhood arts community to the art world at large. Ultimately, the Arts Registry is a commitment to and investment in art, and will be essential to aid future viability of our arts individuals and industries,” de Luca said in a statement.

Ana De Archuleta, Maplewood's Director of Arts & Culture, agreed, saying the platform is a "one-stop shop" for creatives and those looking to hire them.

“Artists want nothing more than to work in their chosen field, sell their art, get hired for a gig, and express their creativity. This platform will allow artists to gather all their materials and information in an accessible one-stop shop to share their work with their industries and the community,” De Archuleta said.

The registry's many photos, work samples and profiles can be viewed online. More information is available on the township's website.
