Marathon County inspections: One restaurant has 9 violations, two businesses receive 5

The following are the latest results of Marathon County Health Department inspections on licensed food establishments and other types of businesses, which the Wausau Daily Herald reports monthly.

Athens

  • Eddie's Bar, 246469 Marathon County S: Oct. 4: One violation: Consumer advisory on menu missing.

Colby

  • Kountry Kitchen Katering, 101262 Marathon County N: Oct. 4: No violations.

Mosinee

  • Ashley Tavern & Ballroom, 20100 Marathon County X: Oct. 27: No violations.

  • Chang's Halfmoon Lakeview Bar and Grill, 147707 Half Moon Lake Drive: Oct. 25: Three violations: Door seal on two-door cooler needs fixing; backflow device on top of dishwasher leaking; floor area in dish room has broken tiles.

Schofield

  • Burger King No. 4812, 6003 Business 51: Oct. 19: One violation: Kitchen floor missing grout and debris accumulating in between lines.

  • Taco Bell No. 31834, 704 Grand Ave.: Oct. 12: One violation: Sprayer wand for the power soak sink broken.

Spencer

  • My Brother's Place, 113 E. Clark St.: Oct. 17: No violations.

  • Nutz Deep II North, 103 E. Clark, : Oct. 26: Three violations: Consumer advisory missing from the disclosure statement; employee working in food preparation or cooking area without hair restraint; biscuits and gravy mix improperly cooled (corrected during inspection).

Stratford

  • Wild Steer Diner, 214910 State 97: Oct. 3: Three violations: Pasta salad prepared on Oct. 2 dated wrong (corrected during inspection); consumer advisory on menu missing disclosure statement; no certified food manager for establishment.

Rothschild

  • Papillon’s Pizza, 1041 Grand Ave.: Oct. 26: Nine violations: Tzatziki sauce in sandwich prep table not at proper temperature; person in charge not monitoring handwashing activities of employees; person in charge not monitoring temperatures during cold holding; employees seen washing hands in food preparation sink (corrected during inspection); sandwich prep table and dough cooler not sufficient capacity to hold foods at proper temperature; box of cut fries stored on floor in walk-in freezer; boxes of mozzarella cheese stored on floor of walk-in cooler; pizza preparation table and server cooler not equipped with permanently attached thermometers; lights in kitchen not shatter resistant or shielded.

Wausau

  • A & A Restaurant, 1702 Grand Ave.: Oct. 6: Two violations: Sanitizer not used according to package directions; salmon improperly thawed.

  • Applebee's Neighborhood Grill, 221 Stewart Ave.: Oct. 3: Five violations: Sanitizer not used according to label instructions; person in charge not monitoring proper sanitization techniques; temperature gauge on dishwasher full of condensation and wash and rinse temperatures are not legible; scoops in the spices not stored with handles extended; roof leaks over storage rack on the backside of cookline.

  • The Chatterbox Bar, 102 S. Second Ave.: Oct. 12: No violations.

  • Da Bar, 244850 Porcupine Road: Oct. 10: One violation: No service sink in establishment.

  • Lake View Bliss, 227457 Teal Ave.: Oct. 28: Pre-inspection: One violation: No bar for the track of the sliding door.

  • Ropa's Chicago Style Pizza, 225670 Rib Mountain Drive: Oct. 31: Five violations: Ranch dressing in walk-in cooler exceeded date mark; marinara sauce in walk-in cooler exceeded date mark; squeeze bottles of ranch dressing and BBQ sauce in pizza prep cooler exceeded date mark; person in charge has not provided food safety training to employees on date marking and disposition of temperature control for safe foods; frozen food in freezer not stored and maintained frozen.
