March is almost here, Boise. Ready for perennial favorites Treefort, St. Patrick’s Day?

Get ready to raise a pint of the green stuff, Boise! Or maybe more than one.

March is almost here, and St. Patrick’s Day will have us all getting jiggy and indulging in libations.

Downtown bars will surely have green beer flowing from the taps, as well as other tasty stouts, on Sunday, March 17, and your favorite restaurant might have a special menu, so call to confirm.

St. Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without some bagpipes, so check the Boise Highlanders website for updates on the band’s scheduled performances. Sadly, the group will not be making an appearance at the annual Butte for Boise, as the event has been canceled permanently.

Want a different kind of Irish music? The Young Dubliners will be rockin’ the Knitting Factory on Saturday, March 9.

Not really into Irish music? No problem, because in Boise, March means a whole lot of music options at the annual Treefort Music Fest, which is March 20-24 this year. The lineup is stacked with more than 420 emerging and renowned artists. And, of course, there will be other “forts” to pop in on as well, including Marc Maron as the headliner for Comedyfort (March 23, Egyptian Theatre). Marc has released five hit stand-up comedy specials throughout his career, his most recent being “From Bleak to Dark.”

Got spring fever? Get the inspiration you need to get started on all your home and garden projects at the Boise Spring Home Show March 15-17 at Expo Idaho or the Boise Flower and Garden Show March 22-24 at the Boise Centre.

And if you’re looking to get a little rowdy, round up some buddies and head to the Ford Idaho Center for the Professional Bull Riders event Unleash the Beast on March 28-30.

Note: Check with event websites or social media before attending. Events might be canceled or postponed after press deadline.
