March for Equality in Fort Myers draws gubernatorial candidates, other speakers

Hundreds are expected to gather Saturday for Women's March Fort Myers, kicking off at 10 a.m. at the Alliance for the Arts.

"We are calling this event the March for Equality," Women's March Fort Myers Vice President and Treasurer Debbie Canyock said in an email to The News-Press / Naples Daily News. "This means equality for all people. The current Florida legislators and governor have taken steps to limit the rights of women and other groups."

Canyock added that the march will also celebrate women running for office. The majority of speakers are women candidates or women who already hold office in Florida.
