March Madness: Purdue basketball a 1 seed, IU a 4 seed in first NCAA Bracket Preview

Both the Purdue and Indiana men's basketball teams will make the NCAA tournament, that is for certain.

But where the two rivals will end up is still up in the air. Purdue, which has lost three of its past four, is 23-4 overall and 12-4 in the Big Ten this season. Indiana owns a win over the Boilermakers earlier this season and sits at 18-8 overall and 9-6 in the Big Ten.

The NCAA released its projected top 16 seeds today, so where did Purdue and Indiana end up?

Purdue basketball gets a No. 1 seed

The Boilermakers were ranked third overall, so they get a No. 1 seed in the mock bracket. Purdue was placed in the East Region, along with UCLA (2 seed), Iowa State (3 seed) and Marquette (4 seed).

Indiana basketball receives a 4 seed

Out of 16 teams, Indiana was 13th overall. The Hoosiers were the fourth seed in the South Region. Along with IU in that region was Alabama (1 seed), Baylor (2 seed) and Virginia (3 seed).

Indiana basketball:As March nears, IU can't wait to be knocked down to start playing with more fight.
