ELAINE QUIJANO: Vise President Kamala Harris led the virtual ceremony. Secretary Fudge will play a role in the Biden administration's pandemic response, as it works to address millions of Americans facing late rent payments and homelessness. Fudge has represented Ohio in Congress since 2008. Her appointment now leaves a vacancy in the US House, where Democrats already have a slim majority.
