Is Marcus Brady the favorite to be the Colts next OC?

The Frank Reich coaching tree grew a bit bigger on Thursday as the Indianapolis Colts saw offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni take the head coach job with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, the Colts have to replace Sirianni’s role as the offensive coordinator. We detailed several candidates who could hold that role, but it appears there is a favorite in the running already.

That would be quarterbacks coach Marcus Brady.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Brady has been with the Colts for three seasons now. He joined the staff in 2018 as the assistant quarterbacks coach and was promoted to quarterbacks coach before the 2019 season and has held the role since.

He was an underrated part in working with Andrew Luck upon his return from shoulder surgery. That road had plenty of bumps in it but Luck seemed to hit his stride when working with Brady in 2018.

Seeing as the Jaguars requested to interview Brady for their vacant offensive coordinator role under new head coach Urban Meyer, it would make sense that the Colts would want to promote him in order to keep him in the offense.

It remains to be seen what the Colts have planned in replacing Sirianni, but we may already know who the favorite is to be the next offensive coordinator.
