Marcus Ericsson unveils ticket for 2023 Indy 500

Marcus Ericsson has unveiled his molded face on the Borg-Warner Trophy, taken an extensive victory tour in his native Sweden and had to find room on his way home from testing at The Thermal Club for a new shiny piece of hardware: his own Baby Borg.

But it's now nearly time to begin preparing to try and defend his win last May at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Friday, Ericsson did so by unveiling the ticket for the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 that features the Swedish driver frozen in a special moment in time amidst his emotional celebration in Victory Lane.

The ticket for the 2023 Indianapolis 500 will feature last year's winner, Marcus Ericsson, and the moment the Swedish driver experienced the legendary milk bath in Victory Lane.

It's called The Dragon:How Marcus Ericsson's controversial (but legal) move won Indy 500

This year's ticket features a photo taken by IMS photographer Joe Skibinski that shows Ericsson dousing himself with a bottle of milk after taking a celebratory swig atop the Victory Podium. Ericsson is wearing the winner's wreath that features all sorts of nods to the race's history and traditions (33 cymbidium orchids; red, white and blue ribbon; checkered flags; and cedar blocks inscribed with 'BorgWarner'). The background of this year's ticket is black and features the 100-plus year-old track's blueprints, giving a nod to the logo for the 2023 race unveiled last May.

The image of Ericsson is surrounded by a gold foil outline that, as IMS said, "embodies the class and prestige of the Indianapolis 500."

Ericsson helped unveil his ticket at the Indy Fuel's 'Indy 500 Night' Friday, to help honor and properly celebrate the avid hockey fan who used to play the sport back home in Sweden before his racing career took off.
