Mardi Gras 2022 Pensacola: Where to find all of the balls, parades and parties

Mardi Gras has felt a little off ever since the COVID-19 threw a wrench in the spokes of every live event.

The 2020 festivities managed to barely evade the pandemic by happening just before all the fun times dried up. Mardi Gras did happen in 2021, though it was pushed back to later in the year and events were limited.

Now, almost two full years after the pandemic began, Mardi Gras has already kicked off on time and is looking to hold a mostly-full schedule of events.

Krewe of Jesters Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 6 to 10 p.m., Feb. 5

  • Where: St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church, 6464 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL

  • Admission: $35

The Navarre Krewe of Jesters will be hosting their annual Krewe Mardi Gras Ball celebration and it’s open to the public. There will be heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and live entertainment from the Class X Band. This is a BYOB event and requires formal attire. Tickets are available at the door or from any Krewe of Jesters member.

Seville Ball

  • When: 8 p.m. Feb. 5

  • Where: Seville Quarter

  • Admission: $60

Milton Mardi Gras Parade

  • When: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Feb. 12

  • Where: Milton High school

  • Admission: Free

The Milton Mardi Gras Parade was the one party that didn’t stop during the initial outbreak of the pandemic. Hosted by the Emerald Coast Krewe of Airship Pirates, the annual parade begins rolling at 4 p.m. at Milton High School before ending at Pine and Elmira streets. Krewe of St. Patrick Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 7 to 11 p.m., Feb. 12

  • Where: Palafox House, 196 N. Palafox St.

  • Admission: $65

The Krewe of St. Patrick is hosting their 11th annual Shamrock-N-Roll Mardi Gras Ball "Glitz and Glamour: Hollywood's Golden Age." Tickets are $65 each and include food and catered by Great Southern Restaurants, drink specials, dancing, and more.

The krewe asks that you wear attire representing the 1930s-‘40s, a formal tux/kilt or a ball gown. Attendees must be 21 years old or older.

First annual Paw-di Gras Paw-ty

  • When: Noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 13

  • Where: Closed down Garden Street, between Jefferson and Tarragona streets

  • Admission: Free

The event will be held in front of Perfect Plain Brewery in a closed-down portion of Garden Street between Tarragona and Palafox streets. Local vendors, food trucks and krewes will be lined along the streets. Pets and their owners are encouraged to dress up in Mardi Gras or football-related costumes.

At 2 p.m., a paw-rade will kick off that includes floats created using wagons, carts, strollers, decorated leashes or anything else with non-motorized wheels. Attending the event is free but there is a $10 suggested donation for each dog and their human escorts. All of the proceeds from the fees will go to the Pensacola Human Society.

PLT flotilla

  • When: 10:45 a.m., Feb. 19

  • Where: Starts at Holiday Harbor/Sunset Grill and ends at The Flora-Bama

  • Admission: Free to watch/$50 to participate

The Pirates of Lost Treasure Krewe is hosting a flotilla that will ultimately lead to announcing the PLT 2022 king, queen and royal court, plus a pretty sweet after-party. The flotilla route starts at 10:45 a.m. at Holiday Harbor Marina, follows the docks toward Big Lagoon State Park, passes by Perdido Bay Seafood, heads toward Galvez Landing and ends at Flora-Bama.

Kids and Kritters 2022 parade

  • When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Feb. 19

  • Where: Casino Beach parking lot

  • Admission: Free

Get ready for a magical Mardi Gras-themed parade featuring kids and kritters. The Kids and Kritters 2022 parade returns to Pensacola Beach and will feature mini floats comprised of wagons, fishing carts, strollers or anything that can be pushed or pulled – no motorized floats, roller skates, bikes or skateboards.

Spectators are free to watch but all participants must register to participate. Pets registrations are $5 per pet, must be well-behaved and on a leash no longer than six feet. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the parade kicks off at 2 p.m.

Navarre Beach Mardi Gras parade

  • When: 1 to 3 p.m., Feb. 19

  • Where: Navarre Beach

  • Admission: Free

The Navarre Beach Mardi Gras parade returns in 2022. The parade starts at 1 p.m. and will run along Gulf Boulevard. Float registration is still open. Contact Deb Sinagra at 850-517-6851 for more information.

Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade

  • When: 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25

  • Where: Downtown Pensacola

  • Admission: Free

The Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade is one of Pensacola’s most unique and well-attended parades. It’s unique because it’s one of the few that is meant to be seen at night, hence the name. The parade takes the same route as the Christmas Parade and is just as exciting with dozens of floats, music and beads.

Pensacola Mardi Gras Grand Parade

  • When: 2 p.m. Feb. 26

  • Where: Downtown Pensacola

  • Admission: Free

The Pensacola Mardi Grand Grand Parade is the ultimate culmination of the season, with a massive parade that engulfs downtown Pensacola and tons of after parties to be found among downtown bars.

Krewe of Wrecks Mardi Gras Parade

  • When: 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 27

  • Where: Pensacola Beach

  • Admission: Free

The Krewe of Wrecks Mardi Gras Parade marks the last event of the season before heading into Fat Tuesday on March 1. This parade happens at Pensacola Beach and follows along Via de Luna.
