Mardi Gras celebration held in Tyler park

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – On Sunday, the spirit of New Orleans was brought to East Texas in the form of a Mardi Gras celebration at the Bergfeld Park in Tyler.

Mardi Gras celebrated in Palestine with Mystics of Time Krewe

Gordon Melva, an event organizer, told KETK that the best part of the celebration is giving the community a chance to come out and interact in the spirit of Mardi Gras.

“A lot of people do a lot of hard work on their stuff. Yeah, a lot of a lot of talent out here,” Melva said.

Originally, the event was was scheduled for Saturday, but was then rescheduled due to weather concerns. On Saturday, the City of Palestine celebrated their Mardi Gras despite initial weather concerns.
