Maren Morris raises $100K for LGBTQ causes with ‘Lunatic’ shirts after Tucker Carlson insult amid Brittany Aldean feud

Maren Morris and Brittany Aldean’s feud has hit Fox News, but the country music star is using the headlines to do some good.

Morris, 32, first responded to Aldean, the wife of Jason Aldean, for her Instagram reel applying makeup, which she captioned, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it,” the “Bones” singer replied after her touring partner, Cassadee Pope, stepped in to call out the mother of two.

“Sucks when Karens try to hide their homophobia/transphobia behind their ‘protectiveness of the children.”

Morris also branded Aldean “Insurrection Barbie.”

After widespread backlash, Aldean claimed her message was “getting twisted,” but went on Tucker Carlson’s show Friday night to defend it anyway.

“I’m advocating for children,” she told Carlson Thursday.

“I think that children should not be allowed to make these life-changing decisions at such a young age. They are not mature enough; they should have parents who love them and advocate for them regardless. We have ages on everything. We have it for cigarettes, driving, military, voting… yet for some reason people think that we can let a child choose their gender so young? It’s very baffling to me.”

The Fox News host, siding with Aldean, dubbed Morris a “Lunatic Country Music Person,” complete with an on-screen chyron; Morris briefly made a screenshot her profile photo on Twitter.

On Friday, she took it a step farther and rolled out T-shirts with the moniker and the phone number for Trans Lifeline, a non-profit hotline that offers “direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.”

By Saturday, Morris had raised $100,000 from sales, with proceeds split between Trans Lifeline and GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program.

“Have a great Labor Day weekend, lunatics,” she tweeted.
