Margaret Franklin wins Region Growth Award at Democratic Women's Club convention

The Democratic Women's Club of Florida had its yearly convention in Orlando on Thursday, April 21, through Sunday, May 1, 2022.

U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried and State Sen. Annette Taddeo all spoke at the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida’s convention held at the Rosen Centre. The candidates focused on the best way to defeat DeSantis. Crist pledged that if he did not win, he would endorse either of the two wonderful candidates.

Tallahassee's Margaret Franklin, Region III Chair and President of the Capital City Democratic Women’s Club won a Region Growth Award and a Club Growth Award for Leon County.

She chartered Wakulla Democratic Women’s Club, Madison County Democratic Women’s Club, and Taylor County Democratic Women’s Club this year. She also reactivated the Leon Democratic Women’s Club.

Congratulations go to Dr. Barbara Thomas Reddick for winning an award for Club Growth of Jefferson County. Franklin says DWCF President Monica Readus inspired her to work hard to grow Region 3

"It is great to see new counties excited about working to make a change," Franklin said, "We must build a legacy that represents a country that believe in equality for everyone."
