Margaret Mary Health Foundation celebrates successful 2023

Jan. 17—BATESVILLE — Margaret Mary Health Foundation recently celebrated its 2023 achievements and milestones. With the support of the Batesville community, MMHF surpassed expectations and raised 51 percent more funds compared to 2022.

Throughout 2023, MMHF witnessed an increase in all appeals, attracting the support of 582 new donors and reaching a total of 1,420 donors.

A news release from MMHF states that this overwhelming response demonstrates the community's commitment to ensuring the hospital's legacy of care continues for future generations.

In support of Margaret Mary Health's mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities it serves, the Foundation is proud to have awarded nearly $250,000 in grants, including:

—New curriculum for the Girls on the Run program;

—New Broselow Carts for the Med/Surg and Emergency Departments;

—Pediatric Broselow Carts;

—A bladder scanner and a vein finder for the Outpatient Clinic and Cancer Center;

—New wheelchairs for the hospital lobby;

—Team member morale boosters;

—Reflection Garden completion on the Six Pine Ranch campus;

—A new safety call light on the walking trail that will be installed early 2024, in partnership with Hillenbrand and Ripley County Community Foundation; and

—Activities for Transitional Care patients.

"Our grants have touched every aspect of the hospital, addressing critical patient needs and fostering a healthier future for our community," Jonathon Maple, Executive Director, MMHF, stated.

The release further states that MMHF is excited about the year ahead, with many community events, including the Hospice 5K in April, Girls on the Run 5K in the spring and fall and the Suicide Prevention 5K in September. It will continue to have the annual golf outing in August and the "Off to the Races" gala in September.

New this year, the Health Foundation will be hosting a "Cycle to Celebrate and Remember" event in June. This event will consist of a stationary bike race that will engage community members and businesses to participate and raise money for the Cancer Care Fund.

"We have a big year ahead and are so excited to partner with our community to transform the healthcare landscape in southeastern Indiana," Maple said.
