Mariah Carey celebrated the 30th anniversary of her “Dreamlover” video by recreating one of its looks. The iconic diva posted some images on Instagram, paying homage to the timeless visual.

The photos feature the singer donning a black-and-white flannel and black jeans. She accentuates her youthful looks with minimalistic makeup and her long hair pulled back into a soft style.

The mother of two captioned the photos of her playful poses, “Homage to the Dreamlover video (sans the grassy fields 😂).”

Fans loved the 54-year-old star taking them on a journey down memory lane and acknowledged how good she looked doing it.

One followed commented, “Instantly transported back to 1993. You’re timeless MC!”

Another playfully mentioned this is a prelude to the Queen of Christmas getting ready for her season. “That hair, that face, that body is getting ready for Christmas QUEEN season yasss 🎤🔥🫶🏽😍❤️.”

Even Facebook jumped in the comments to be a lamb (a term for Carey’s die-hard fans) commenting, “You literally do not age.”

The acclaimed Diane Martel is the video’s director, and the visual takes place on a farm in Copake, New York. Her original wardrobe included blue-and-white flannel tied at the bottom, cuffed jean shorts, a chunky black belt and plain black sneakers. Her signature ’90s ringlets were tied into low pigtails.

Swooping camera shots showcase male background dancers in oversized gear, synonymous with the times of the video’s mid-1993 release. The video perfectly balanced the innocence that Carey embodied at the time.

“Dreamlover” was a massive hit for the artist as the lead single off her third and best-selling studio album, Music Box, and sat at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks. It also became her seventh No. 1 single, earning a Grammy nomination for best female vocal pop performance.

According to Old Time Music, in a previous interview with Jet, the singer shared that the lyrics were based upon her desire for true love and finding it with her then-husband, music executive Tommy Mottola.

“I used to have a dreamlover, somebody I used to dream about every night, and I never met him until I met Tommy,” she said at the time.
