The Ellen DeGeneres Show is currently at the centre of controversies surrounding allegations of harassment and misconduct among the staff, while a number of people have come forward to talk about their time on the series.

Mariah Carey has now spoken about having a negative experience on the talk show, opening up about the time that Ellen forced the singer to confirm pregnancy rumours by offering her a glass of champagne on-air that she had to turn down.

She miscarried soon after the interview.

In an interview with Vulture, Mariah recalled: "I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say. And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath.

"I wasn't ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don't want to throw anyone that's already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn't enjoy that moment."

The singer added that there is "an empathy that can be applied to those moments that I would have liked to have seen implemented, but what am I supposed to do?"

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is currently undergoing an internal investigation, with staff members being interviewed about the on-set atmosphere. One of the series' producers, Andy Lassner, has described it as "a couple of rough months".

Earlier last month, he also denied rumours that the show was being cancelled in the wake of the controversies.

Lassner and fellow executive producers previously stated that the show has always "strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment", adding that "we need to do better, are committed to do better, and we will do better".
