Marine Academy of Science and Technology switches to remote learning
SANDY HOOK — The Marine Academy of Science and Technology, the Monmouth County Vocational school known as MAST, announced on Twitter that classes would go fully remote on Wednesday and Thursday.
The reason for the schedule change was not included in the school's Twitter post. School officials could not be immediately reached for comment on Tuesday evening.
Parents were notified by email and phone about the schedule change, according to the post.
It was not immediately clear if the change was related to the surging cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. On Monday, county officials reported 2,036 new infections between Dec. 16 and Dec. 20.
ALERT: MAST will be going remote tomorrow and Thursday, 22-23 December. A letter has gone out to parents via email, and an automated call will be going out shortly. Students should check their school email for instructions from their teachers. Stay safe and healthy!
