Mario Dedivanovic Is Selling a Masterclass Ticket for $400,000 This Holiday Season
Mario Dedivanovic isn't just Kim Kardashian's makeup artist and collaborator behind KKW x Mario beauty products. He's also a teacher, and his classroom is the Masterclass, which is a series of sessions that brings together a lecture hall's worth of makeup artists and fans to learn from Dedivanovic himself.
He's toured the Masterclass around the globe, gracing makeup artists in Dubai, New York, Chicago, Michigan and more with a full day's worth of tips and tricks. Back in 2016, the event was enough to make a former Allure editor "flip out with excitement." In the years since, Dedivanovic's popularity has only increased. His Instagram follower count is currently at 6.9 million. For context, that's about 5 million more than Elizabeth Warren. With his fanfare and 20 years of experience, Dedivanovic landed in front of the buyers at luxury department store Neiman Marcus who've tapped him for a special, very expensive treat this holiday season.
Each year, Neiman Marcus curates a series of what it calls Fantasy Gifts, which are luxurious, over-the-top presents best defined as experiences that money typically can't buy. For the 2019 list, the brand reached out to Dedivanovic for the Masterclass Luxury Gift. At the low, low price of $400,000 ($15,000 of which go to the store's own foundation), one person will get a Masterclass trip steeped in the type of luxury we'd expect from one of the Kardashians' favorite makeup artists.
The Fantasy Gift includes: two tickets to a Masterclass in the U.S. with a personal one-hour makeup session with Dedivanovic himself, who will then post a video of you getting your makeup done on his aforementioned Instagram. He'll also gift you all the products used. On top of all that, you'll get five-star versions of all logistical needs like airfare, meals, car service, and hotel accommodation are covered. I'd like to note now that only one Fantasy Gift is available, and to purchase it, you need to get in touch with Neiman Marcus customer service.
To say this is a luxe experience is an understatement, but it's also highly educated. Whoever ends up with this gift should expect to leave acquiring a ton of knowledge about makeup, Dedivanovic tells Allure. "My students learn the most important tips, tricks, and techniques to make them stronger artists and to elevate their work and careers," he adds. "They also learn a lot about what not to do and how to edit themselves as they work."
So what else makes the Masterclass itself worthy of almost half a million dollars? "The Masterclass not only provides an enriching education for students, but it also leaves them feeling re-energized and inspired," Dedivanovic explains. "That feeling of empowerment is what I consider to be a luxury above all else, because that is truly priceless."
Even if Santa doesn't bring you this gift, perhaps a regular ticket to a Masterclass will do. For an upcoming class in Michigan, tickets range from $250 to $750 — still not quite a stocking stuffer but it could be worth saving up for. "It's a big priority for me to give everyone the opportunity to attend and experience The Masterclass," Dedivanovic says. Let's just hope you're on the nice list this year.
