Marion County Fair set to return for full slate for the first time since 2019

The Marion County Fair returns in full force this weekend for the first time since 2019.

The fair is held at the Oregon State Fairgrounds, 2330 17th St. NE in Salem.

The fair, which runs Friday through Sunday, was one of the first in Oregon to return in 2021 after a year hiatus due to COVID-19-related restrictions. But the fair wasn’t as big as a typical year as there was still a mass vaccination clinic ongoing at the State Fairgrounds.

This year, the fair will hold a full slate of concerts, contests and rides.

The Marion County Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Musicians performing include Hannah Wood, Josh n’ Jess, Joe Stoddard, The Boondock Boys, The Junebugs and Breland (Friday); Trevor Tagle, Fat Bottomed Girls, Too Loose Cajun Zydeco, Highway Bound, Gabriel Cox and Frank Ray (Saturday); and Music Students of the Phoenix and Folklorico (Sunday).

Among the attractions are livestock from 4H and FFA programs, “Puzzlemania” including giant puzzles and puzzles of all types, the All-Alaskan racing pigs, a Real Heroes Exhibits that includes first responders, and reptiles of the world.
