Marion detectives investigating shooting death in Citra

CITRA — Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Saturday.

According to deputies, at 1:48 a.m. they were called to the 4700 block of West County Road 318 in reference to a shooting.

Authorities said when they arrived, they found a male who had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was deceased.

Sheriff's Office officials declined to provide additional details about the fatal shooting. As of Saturday afternoon they had not released the victim's name, age or where he lives. They were still trying to notify his family.
