Mariska Hargitay Just Called Out Kelly Clarkson in an Emotional Instagram Post

Law and Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay just alluded to a lifelong dream, and it surprisingly has to do with one of today's most popular singers — Kelly Clarkson.

In a recent video posted to Mariska's Instagram, she shared a behind-the-scenes moment with recurring guest star and Tony Award winner Betty Buckley. The clip showed Mariska overcoming her anxiety of singing in front of a crowd, as she performed a rendition of Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou." What's more, after the NBC star exemplified her unexpected musical talent, she also revealed that she has a famous musician in mind for who she wants to partner with next.

"Here’s a little #MondayMotivation. Do something you’re scared of today!" she wrote on April 10. "I sang one of my favorite songs in front of @blbuckley!!!! Took me about four months to get the nerve up luckily, I had the beautiful and talented @hkaufax by my side!"

She then tagged The Voice coach Kelly as her next duet partner using the hashtag, "#MyGoalIsToSingThisWith@kellyclarkson."

As soon as Mariska called out Kelly on the social media platform, her followers immediately got behind the Law and Order veteran to make this happen. They not only loved the idea but they also tagged The Kelly Clarkson Show host themselves in the comments section as a form of support.

"Get her on Kellyoke!!! @kellyclarksonshow," one person wrote on Instagram, referring to the popular segment on the daytime series. "Come on @kellyclarkson get this lady singing with you! ❤️🙌👏," another follower replied. "I didn’t know I needed to hear you sing with @kellyclarkson so bad until today!! Let’s make this happen asap @therealmariskahargitay I would love to hear the two of you sing together ❤️🙌👏👍🎤💯," a different user added.

While Mariska's request to Kelly may come as a surprise, folks who follow her know how much she loves the American Idol winner's work. The actress has appeared on her daytime TV talk show a few times over the years, and even met Kelly's daughter River Rose at the 2022 People's Choice Awards this past December. At the time, Mariska told the young girl just how much she enjoyed her mom's work.

"Your mom, I was on her show ... she wanted to ask me questions and I wouldn’t even let her," she said in a backstage video posted on TikTok. "You know why? Because I love her so much and she sings my favorite song."

She continued: "[Kelly] made me cry and I started crying on her show because I love her voice and it went right into my soul and in my gut … and not a lot of people can do that where they sing and it goes like a ray of light into someone’s soul. That’s what your mom does."

Well, if Kelly ever needs another singer for her next performance, she may want to get Mariska on speed dial.
