Mariupol marine commander again calls for his troops to be extracted from Azovstal plant

“If world civilization still has common spiritual values and ideals, if people can feel the pain and suffering of others, if a plea for help makes you act, then I call on you to fight for the Mariupol garrison!” Volyna wrote on Facebook.
“I call on the whole world, I call on everyone to help to launch an ‘extraction’ procedure for the Ukrainian military!”
At the same time, Volyna said the defenders of Mariupol were continuing to fight against the Russian invaders, despite the critical situation in Azovstal, where hundreds of civilians and injured people still remain trapped.
“The marines are my family,” Volyna said. “These are the defenders of Ukraine who give their lives for the Motherland without hesitation. These are brothers who always share the latter equally, ready to lend a helping hand! Because we have … a common love for the Motherland of Ukraine!”

According to the Azov Battalion, over the past day 38 Russian aircraft have attacked Azovstal, including four sorties of strategic bombers. Enemy artillery, tanks and mortars continue to shell the plant. The enemy is continuing its attempts to capture the Ukrainian fortress and is continuing to carry out daily assaults with the support of infantry.

The garrison includes the Azov Regiment special operations detachment, the 12th Brigade of the National Guard, the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, border guards, police, volunteers, and city territorial defenders.
On May 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that more than 300 civilians had been evacuated from Azovstal and preparations were underway for the second stage of the evacuation mission, which would rescue the injured and medical workers.
Russia does not agree to any of the options offered by Ukraine to save the Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on May 10.
