Mariupol: there is no parade, but there is a "carnival" - Mayor's Advisor

The Russian occupiers have deployed 300 metres of "St. George ribbon" in the besieged city of Mariupol, and with the help of guest performers from the occupied territories are trying to create an image for Russian TV.

Details: According to Andriushchenko, the occupiers stretched 300 metres of a striped "rag" – that is, the "St. George's ribbon," banned in Ukraine – along Nakhimov Avenue, one of the central streets of Mariupol, which is almost destroyed as a result of shelling. And all this against the backdrop of a cannonade from Azovstal, where the enemy has resumed the assault on the Ukrainian forces.
According to local residents, people/volunteers from Novoazovsk and Donetsk were brought in to carry the "potato beetle sheet" [in reference to the resemblance of the St. George’s ribbon’s coloured stripes to those of the Colorado potato beetle]. Mostly Russians. They’ve also selectively recruited elderly people from Mariupol.
