Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said she hasn’t been informed she was removed from the House Freedom Caucus after the conservative group reportedly voted to oust her.

“All the information I found out was from you guys," Greene told reporters at the Capitol, according to multiple reports, accusing the group of doing "a good job of talking to you more than” its members.

Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., a member of the House Freedom Caucus, said last week the group voted to remove Greene, citing a confrontation with Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., in which Greene used an expletive. He also noted other factors, including her support for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

It marked the first time a member was ousted from the group, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether the caucus would need to clear additional hurdles for her to officially be removed, CNN reported at the time.

“I don’t have time for the drama club,” Green said, according to multiple reports.

Nick Dyer, a spokesperson for Greene, said in a statement to USA TODAY “We are not interested in this media-fueled drama.”

“Congresswoman Greene is focused on her amendments to the (National Defense Authorization Act) and hopes her colleagues join her to strip funding to Ukraine."

Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., told CNN Tuesday that he didn’t attend the meeting last month where the House Freedom Caucus voted to remove Greene. He said Rep. Scott Perry, R-Penn., has tried to contact her, but there “haven’t been any return phone calls.”

He said he doesn’t want the Georgia lawmaker to be in the group, but he would not have voted to remove her, saying “once she’s in the Freedom Caucus, she is what she is.”

Former congressman Justin Amash resigned from the House Freedom Caucus in 2019. The group voted on Greene’s removal last month, Politico first reported.
