Avengers: Endgame star Mark Ruffalo has said that portraying Bruce Banner aka Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be super embarrassing at times–as his co-stars often tease him about his unusual on-set look.

During a look back at his most iconic roles with GQ, the actorwho has played the big green guy on-screen since 2012–joked that because the role requires him to do so much motion capture, he has to wear a tight-fitting leotard.

"It was so humiliating," he laughed as he described his "man-cancelling suit" in the video. "All of the actors, whenever I would walk out, would just start laughing at me because they were in their cool superhero costumes and I'm wearing ridiculous pajamas that make me look like a Chinese checkers board."

The 52-year-old went on to recall a particular scene from the original Avengers, which saw Hulk catch Robert Downey Jr's character Iron Man mid-air after the latter falls through a wormhole in his attempt to save New York City.

"Hulk catches Downey... and he puts him on the ground, right?" Ruffalo notes. "I decide I'm gonna do this Hulk roar over him in my little leotard. He had his eyes closed, and he just opened one and went, 'Really, Ruffalo? That's what you're really going with?'

"That's what it's always been like! On the last movie, he came up to me and he said, 'I have a lot of compassion for you. I see how hard it is for you to stand around in that costume all day."
