Mark Sears, Ohio Bobcats transfer guard, commits to Alabama Crimson Tide

Guard Mark Sears, who entered the transfer portal after a breakout season for the Ohio Bobcats in 2021-22, committed Thursday night via Twitter to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Sears, from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, averaged 19.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in 35 games - all starts - for the Bobcats as a sophomore.

Sears, 20, averaged 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game as a freshman the previous season.

Alabama's head coach, Nate Oats, coached in the Mid-American Conference at Buffalo before leaving in 2019 for the Crimson Tide, which finished last season with a 19-14 record, 9-9 in the Southeastern Conference.
