Mark Twain forest service needs help identifying suspected thieves

Mark Twain National Forest needs help in identifying two suspected thieves.

Two people were seen on video and photo stealing from the Marcoot Lookout Tower, near Bunker, in 2021, according to the National Park Service.

They are suspected of taking the Osborne Fire Finder from the lookout tower. Fire finders help lookouts pinpoint the exact location of smoke cross referenced with a map. The finders are considered historical items and difficult to replace.

The park service asks for your help in identifying the pair. If you have any information, call the Mark Twain National Forest’s Patrol Captain Casey Hutsell at 573-341-7463.
