Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, 38, announced Wednesday that he and wife Priscilla Chan, 37, were expecting their third child, another daughter.

The two are already parents to Maxima, 6, and August, 5.

“Lots of love. Happy to share that Max and August are getting a new baby sister next year!” Zuckerberg captioned a photo of the couple on Instagram.

Zuckerberg and Chan met in 2003 at a fraternity party while both were enrolled at Harvard and married in 2012 at a surprise ceremony at their Palo Alto house while celebrating Chan’s graduation from medical school.

When Max was born on Dec. 1, 2015, the couple announced the launch of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropic endeavor dedicated to education and curing diseases. They pledged 99% of their wealth for the projects.

Baby August was born Aug. 28, 2017.

The news is a bright spot for Zuckerberg who recently saw his net worth decline by $87 billion in less than a year, standing around $55 billion on Wednesday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. More than 4/5ths of the decline has occurred in 2022 alone.

The fall has been tied with a drop in Facebook users, which has greatly impacted the company’s stock. Zuckerberg has also invested billions into other Meta projects which he has claimed aren’t expected to start generating revenue for several years, possibly not until the 2030s.
