Meet the Pioneers Tour: "Meet the Pioneers" living history tours will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, at the historic Jacksonville Cemetery. Players in period costume from their eras will relate stories of individuals buried in the cemetery or recall significant events of their days that impacted the area. Tour groups of 18 to 21 are shuttled to the hilltop cemetery from downtown for the one-hour presentations. DART Mobile Services: The JCLS DART outreach vehicle, which visits a variety of locations throughout Jackson County, is a Wi-Fi hotspot and computer lab all rolled into one. Community Discussion Panel: The Medford library will host an unhoused community information discussion panel from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave. The discussion will feature four panelists connected to local government services who will discuss their programs, services, and responses to unhoused community members. Panelists include Library Director Kari May, Library Social Worker Haylie Courtney, Medford Deputy City Manager Kelly Madding, and Medford Police Chief Justin Ivens. During this 90-minute presentation, panelists will respond to questions asked by the moderator. Siskiyou Koi and Pond Club: Those interested in koi fish and fish ponds can meet at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month. Club meetings are held to educate, share ideas, and solve problems concerning the care and maintenance of water gardens and ponds and the fish that live in them. Haunted History Tour: Costumed docents will lead an hour-long "Haunted History" tour Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15, in downtown Jacksonville. Ukrainian Refugees Benefit Concert: Uniting for Ukraine Rogue Valley, a grass-roots volunteer-run organization, will present a benefit concert and silent auction to support families coming to the Rogue Valley to escape the war in Ukraine, from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Havurah Synagogue, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Four bands will perform — bluegrass band 33 String Drive, retro dance party band The Danielle Kelly Soul Project, seven-piece world music band Malinka, and the Alquimastas, a nine-piece band playing Brazilian tunes. The silent auction will feature items such as beach vacation getaways, wine packages, mountain bicycle adventures, and more. All proceeds support Ukrainian refugees here in the Rogue Valley.
