Marlington king, queen to celebrate at winter homecoming

Marlington High School has announced its king and queen for the school’s winter homecoming events.

The 2024 Winter Sports King and Queen are seniors Beau Himmelheber and Mahlen Lambdin.

Lambdin, daughter of Mike and Angela Edwards, plays varsity soccer and basketball. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honors Society, Character Counts Club, Student Council and Duke Crew. Himmelheber, son of Eric and Jodee Himmelheber, is a captain on the varsity football and basketball teams, and a volunteer for Marlington Little Dukes.

The rest of the court was announced this week:

FRESHMEN – Chelsea Miller and Parker Woods. Miller, daughter of Ryan and Heidi Miller, is a member of the softball team and Character Counts Club. Woods, son of Justin and Robin Woods, plays varsity soccer, basketball and baseball.

SOPHOMORES – Carlee Kuhn and Blake Cracknell. Kuhn is the daughter of Kendra Kuhn. Cracknell is the son of Jackie Cracknell and Dominic Beccheli.

JUNIORS – Emme Young and Logan King. Young, daughter of Steven and Kristina Young, runs varsity track, and is a member of Character Counts Club and Drama Dukes. King, son of Mike King and Amy and Nate Galpin, runs varsity cross country and track, and is a member of the Marlington Ski Club.

SENIORS – The attendants are Alex Ritchie and Alessandro Ciriachi. Ritchie, daughter of Mike and Jennifer Ritchie, plays varsity volleyball and is a member of Student Council, Duke Street select vocal ensemble, Marlington Chorale, Drama Dukes, and is a news anchor on the Marlington Morning News. Ciriachi, an exchange student from Brussels, Belgium, lives with host parents Jason and Diane Mitchell. He is on the varsity swim team, tennis team and Character Counts Club.

Marlington High School Student Council is sponsor for the Winter Sports Dance, which will be Friday night after the Dukes’ basketball game against Salem.
