Marlington's Tommy Skelding, Cody Jones lead All-Eastern Buckeye Conference baseball
Marlington junior Tommy Skelding and head coach Cody Jones swept the top Eastern Buckeye Conference baseball honors in voting by the league’s coaches.
Skelding, a 6-foot-4 right-hander, is EBC Player of the Year after going 8-1 with a 1.15 ERA for the league-champion Dukes. The University of Kentucky recruit struck out 68 batters in 55 innings.
Skelding also batted .415 with an area-best 32 RBIs. He totaled eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 21 runs.

Jones led Marlington to a 20-5 overall record, a No. 6 ranking in the final coaches association Division II state poll and the No. 2 overall seed in its super district. The Dukes, who finished as district runners-up, went 10-2 in the EBC, three games better than second-place West Branch and Salem. The league title was Marlington’s first since 2019.
