The Miami Marlins acquired top outfield prospect Jesus Sanchez and right-hander Ryne Stanek from the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday for right-handers Nick Anderson and Trevor Richards.
Sanchez, 21, was rated the No. 4 prospect in Tampa Bay's system and No. 42 overall by MLB Pipeline.
In 96 games this season at Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham, Sanchez is batting .263 with 13 doubles, nine homers and 54 RBIs.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Dominican Republic native is a .298 hitter over 447 career games in the minors with 97 doubles, 23 triples, 46 homers and 295 RBIs.
Stanek, 28, was used primarily as the Rays' opener this season, posting an 0-2 record and 3.40 ERA in 41 games (27 starts). He tallied 61 strikeouts in 55 2/3 innings.
Richards, 26, posted a 4.50 ERA and a National League-leading 12 losses in 23 games (20 starts) this season for the Marlins.
Anderson, 29, made his major league debut on March 28 and was 2-4 with a 3.92 ERA in 45 appearances out of the Miami bullpen.
