Marques Houston, 41, Addresses Criticism Of 19-Year Age Gap With His 22-Year-Old Wife, Who He Met When She Was 17

While he continues to face backlash for marrying a woman nearly half his age, actor/singer Marques Houston attended the premiere of his latest movie with his 22-year-old wife Miya Dickey.

As Bossip reported, the No Way Out star faced criticism when he recently sat down for an interview on TV One’s Uncensored series and said his relationship with his wife is a spiritual connection they shared after she turned 18.

“Me and my wife’s situation is a little different,” Houston said on the show. “When I met my wife, she was 17. So, we had no really conversation, no really connection until, you know, she was of age.”

Houston continued to defend himself against the backlash when he spoke to TMZ.

“Everybody has their own opinion–opinions are like noses, everyone has one,” he told TMZ. “I’m not the kinda person who cares what people think about me. So, say what you want. I’m happily married, I love my wife, we have a beautiful daughter and that’s how we living.”

Houston said Dickey was 19 when they got married. The couple then welcomed their first child in 2021.
