Marquette gets back into the top 10 in the AP college basketball rankings

The Marquette men's basketball team is chasing a Big East title with four regular-season games remaining.

The Golden Eagles (21-6, 13-3 Big East) also continue to receive national attention.

Where is Marquette ranked in AP poll this week?

MU jumped up to No. 10 in the latest Associated Press top 25 that was released Monday. The Golden Eagles were ranked 11th last week.

MU first entered the AP poll this season on Dec. 19. The Golden Eagles have been ranked every week since Jan. 9.

When was the last time Marquette was ranked this high?

The Golden Eagles were No. 10 in the Feb. 6 poll and also reached that in ranking for four weeks in the 2018-19 season.

MU was ranked ninth in the March 5, 2012, poll after peaking at No 8 the week before. MU hasn't been ranked higher than eighth since the 1977-78 season.

The Golden Eagles beat Xavier last week with a late tip-in

MU played one game last week, but it was dramatic.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper's tip-in in the waning seconds gave the Golden Eagles a 69-68 victory over then-No. 16 Xavier on Wednesday at Fiserv Forum.

Marquette has another big game on Tuesday at Creighton

MU plays another ranked opponent Tuesday against No. 19 Creighton at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Golden Eagles won the first matchup, 69-58, at Fiserv Forum, but the Bluejays were without 7-foot-1 starting center Ryan Kalkbrenner, who will be available in the rematch.
