Married couple identified as the victims of Saturday's fatal shooting in Wade

Two people found dead in Wade on Saturday evening were identified as a married couple, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Brian Carter Vann and Jennifer Vann, both 48, were found dead of gunshot wounds in the 5600 block of Sambo Jackson Road about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The deaths were initially reported as an overdose, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to Cumberland County records, the couple married in 2014.

Further details were not released.
