The winner of the latest Enquirer Athlete of the Week fan poll is Jake Jacoby of the Marshall football team.

Fans got behind Jacoby to help him edge fellow Athlete of the Week finalists Aiden Moore, Nisean Alexander and Alexa Thurman. Jacoby received 61% of the vote by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline. Thanks to his fans, he will receive an Enquirer Athlete of the Week T-shirt.

Redhawks 6-foot-4 tight end/wide receiver Jake Jacoby caught three passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns as Marshall rolled past Pennfield, 56-22. Jacoby had touchdown catches of 64 yards and 14 yards in the win.

"In our offense, Jake is obviously a great pass catcher and tough runner when he has the ball, but he's required to block at least as much as he's targeted. That's where I'm proudest of him, because he's always battling out there to get tough blocks. His football IQ is really high, and that helps everything on the offense," Marshall coach Mike Fitzpatrick said.
