Marshawn Lynch is not happy TNT is making a show called 'Beast Mode'
NFL fans know Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch as “Beast Mode.” Lynch lived up to that nickname with some dominant runs throughout his career, and capitalized on the name by starting a line of apparel called “Beast Mode.”
So when Lynch found out TNT was trying to make a show called “Beast Mode” that has nothing to do with him, he wasn’t happy about it.
The TNT show titled “Beast Mode” is not about Lynch. Instead, it follows a boxer-turned-trainer who has been through a lot, according to Deadline Hollywood. Based on Lynch’s Twitter comment, it doesn’t sound as though he’s involved in the project.
He may find a way to involve himself now. Lynch owns a couple trademarks on the phrase “Beast Mode,” according to Darren Rovell of ESPN. He has even gone so far as to send cease and desist letters to people trying to sell “Beast Mode” merchandise.
Given that, it wouldn’t be surprising if TNT heard from Lynch’s lawyers soon. The good thing about a television pilot is that you can easily change the name before everyone has heard of the show.
