McInnes secured more than 55% of the online poll voting, totaling 274 votes to earn the honors.

Following McInnes is Exeter hockey player Callum Howarth (164), Dover unified basketball player Mitchell Warden (27), Traip Academy basketball player Ben Hawkes (22) and Oyster River hockey player Cam Miner (15).

During a meet at Philips Exeter Academy last week, McInnes broke a 30-pus-year-old school record with a long jump of 20 feet 10 inches.

"(McInnes) is a great jumper with room to grow," Dover head coach Nick Piatti. "His speed down the runway is incredible and it says a lot that he was able to take down Lee Tasker's 35-year-old record. He hasn't matched his best jump of over 21 feet yet this indoor season, but he's healthy and ready to pop that one off at states on February 12."

Following Theriault was Exeter hockey player Caitlyn Knowles (416), Portsmouth basketball player Maddie MacCannell (204), Exeter basketball player Rachel Ludwig and Oyster River/Portsmouth hockey player Amelie Cowieson.

In Marshwood's 52-35 win over Kennebunk last Friday, Theriault led the Hawks to a win with a game-high 20 points.

"I think it's great that Sarah has been chosen for this award," Marshwood head coach Angie Littlefield said. "Her efforts to our team are so impactful and deserve to be recognized. She's a true team player. Sarah has had a steady season so far but recently has really shown the kind of talent she possesses."

Theriault leads the Hawks in scoring and rebounds, and is often guarding the other team's best player.

"She is one of the toughest players we have, showing the grit and heart it takes to win big games," Littlefield added. "This is only the start for her."
