Martha Stewart Got a Shaggy New Haircut That's Sending the Internet Into a Frenzy

A great haircut can be really transformative, and that's exactly what the iconic Martha Stewart is out to prove this week. We've grown accustomed to Stewart's polished shoulder-length bob over her decades-long career, but that style is no more. On December 4, the TV host posted a snapshot to Instagram of the shaggiest hairstyle we think she's ever worn and — gasp — curtain bangs. "Oh boy," she wrote in the caption. "What a great new haircut can do... Ready for a slew of holiday parties!" She was so ecstatic about the new look, apparently, that she couldn't even wait to remove the her hairdressing gown before posing for the picture. We can't really blame her because it's a look for sure.

Stewart credits hairstylist Eugene Toye of Rita Hazan for the fresh cut, and her signature icy shade of blonde is the work of Parvin Klein from The Bergdorf Goodman Salon in New York City. Unsurprisingly, the internet is in love with the 78-year-old's new look; her post from yesterday has more than 60,000 likes and thousands of glowing comments like "Slay Auntie Martha," "Glamazon," and "Holy hot Martha!" Fire emojis don't even begin to cover it.

As always, Stewart is right: A great haircut done by a professional you trust can do amazing things. She wears this shaggy look with so much confidence that we're all but ready to declare Stewart the next big hair icon of 2020. Sleek bobs, bowl cuts, and the rest of this year's big celebrity hair trends are toast. Give it time... our hunch suggests hairstylists all over the country will be getting this picture shoved in their faces alongside demands to be given "The Martha."
