What Did You Miss?

Line of Duty favourite Martin Compston has recalled being "tongued" by a wolf during his appearance on The One Show on Thursday.

Made with his childhood pal Phil MacHugh, the upcoming show captures their trek across the vast Scandinavian hotspot as they zip-line through its capital city of Oslo, eat a sheep's head and meet wolves. They were on to talk about his six-part docuseries Norwegian Fling.

Speaking to presenters Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas, the Scottish actor confessed his shame over not visiting Norway before, but his cute encounter with the ferocious predators quickly became the topic of conversation.

What, how and why?

"We got told if you open your mouth and let them tongue you a little bit then they like you a lot more," the star shared. "Being in the middle of them when they started howling really was a primal feeling. I'd never experienced anything like it."

Pitching in, MacHugh went on to recall: "And one of the best things as well, after that, was Martin's son is really into wolves and animals, and he called him afterwards and the shear excitement on his boy's face was just beautiful. It was so lovely!"

The unexpected revelation came after they spoke about their friendship. While explaining the pair's dynamic, MacHugh said of Compston: "He's much more adventurous than me, when it comes to the kind of adventure side of the programme. He's diving straight in there, up for anything, whereas I kind of think about it and decide if I'm gonna do that."

Judging by the teaser footage, he did not enter the wolf enclosure at Polar Park. "When you get ideas of what you can do and stuff, this was number one on my list," revealed Compston. "I definitely looked at it and thought I might never get another chance."

What else happened on The One Show?

Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon was also present in The One Show studio, promoting her brand-new children's book - the coincidentally titled Luna Wolf 2: Code Danger.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
