Martin Luther King Jr. celebration planned for Kitsap Fairgrounds is canceled

The 28th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, originally scheduled in-person at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds on Monday, has been canceled because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The celebration will now be a virtual event, planned for 5 p.m. on Jan. 31. The theme of the event is "It Starts With Me: Shifting Priorities to Create a Beloved Community." The event will be accessible via Facebook and Zoom. The Zoom ID is 6965207647.

It will also be replayed on Bremerton Kitsap Access Television (BKAT) following the event.

The event is sponsored by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, the city of Bremerton, Olympic College, Bremerton Kitsap Access Television and Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church.

An MLK pop-up Vaccination Clinic will take place at the Fairgrounds Presidents' Hall

​on Monday from 10 a.m. to noon.
