Martinez couple charged with keeping children in home full of trash and animal feces

A Martinez couple was arrested Sunday after allegedly housing children in a home full of trash and animal feces.

Travis Sheldon Heath, 43, is charged with three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. He was granted a $5,100 bond for each offense.

Alyssa Marie Hodges, 32, is charged with three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. She was granted a $5,100 bond for each offense.

Arrest warrants state Heath and Hodges deprived the children of food and the home had no running water.

The floors were covered in trash, animal feces and urine, according to warrants.
