Marty Stuart Late Night Jam to kick off CMA Fest Week

Good morning, friends, this is Tennessean storytelling columnist Brad Schmitt.

It's gonna be a helluva week downtown and across the river. In addition to our usual bachelorette parties and summer tourists, tens of thousands of county fans are coming here for CMA Fest.

Let me (and country music writer Matthew Leimkuehler) tell you about a kick-off show Wednesday night where ya don't need CMA tickets — and you'll probably see more locals there than anywhere else this week.

Marty Stuart is set to host his annual Late Night Jam at the Ryman, Matt writes. But Matt took an interesting path when he decided to write the preview story about it.

Stuart is a prolific collector of all things country music. And Matt decided to take a look at some of the legendary guitars Marty might whip out for the show. The story comes with a cool photo gallery of some of the beauties Marty has in his collection.

It's the kind of coverage that our awesome music team provides exclusively here in Music City — and you can keep up with all of it by subscribing to our newsletter The Pick.

When you're jumping into CMA Fest with both feet — or using your feet to run from the crowds as fast as you can — hope you have a great week. Thanks for reading The Tennessean, and please dig into more stories below.
