Marvel boss Kevin Feige has addressed WandaVision’s potential return for a second season.

Airing on Disney+, WandaVision imagines a world in which superheroes Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) live inside classic US sitcoms from a variety of eras.

However, as the series progresses, it has become clear that there are more sinister forces at play.

Appearing on the Television Critics’ Association press tour on Wednesday (24 February), Marvel Studios president Feige said that while he “hoped” a second season of WandaVision would happen, he was unwilling to commit to it.

“I’ve been at Marvel too long to say a definite yes or a definite no to anything,” Feige said.

Instead, he added, they were focusing on Wanda’s appearance in the forthcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is scheduled for release in 2022 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch.

“Lizzy Olsen will go from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange film,” Feige said. “We hope there’s a part two and a part three but we’re focusing on part one.”

Last week’s episode of WandaVision was a turning point in the series, as the villain pulling the strings behind-the-scenes was finally revealed.

WandaVision airs Fridays on Disney+.
