Kevin Feige is not planning to resurrect any "fallen Avengers" right now at Marvel Studios, despite those rumours.

While promoting the superhero specialists' latest offering The Marvels, which brings together Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and Monica Rambeau for the very first time on the big screen, studio boss Feige told Entertainment Tonight that the whispers were inaccurate.

"We did not discuss that at the retreat, is the truth," he said, referring to the Marvel executives' annual Palm Springs getaway. "We're doing a project with Scarlett [Johansson], I love Robert [Downey Jr], he's a part of the family, but in terms of returning we'll have to see."

Johansson and Downey Jr's iconic heroes Black Widow and Iron Man are of course deceased in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Multiverse, having sacrificed themselves in Avengers: Endgame in the war on Thanos.

Meanwhile, Feige also caught up with Variety just recently, where he discussed the success of the studio and how glad he is to be a part of it.

"I feel so lucky that I get to do this job," he admitted. "Every costume fitting, when we see the actors transform for the first time, there's always this moment of awe. It's so incredible to take these characters and bring them to life on the screen.

"The great thing about Marvel truly is how many wonderful, interesting characters we have in the comics — they've been at it for 85 years. Even after 32 movies, it feels like we've barely scratched the surface."

The Marvels premieres this Friday (November 10) in cinemas. Captain Marvel is streaming on Disney+ and available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download.
