Phase 5 of the MCU will continue in July with the much-anticipated release of Deadpool 3, now officially known as Deadpool & Wolverine.

If the first trailer for the threequel has got you hyped for what else is to come in Phase 5, we're here to help.

The strikes in Hollywood last year have had a knock-on effect with the upcoming release schedule changed in November 2023. It means we have just one MCU movie release in 2024 and potentially only one extra TV show to come too.

There's been a lot of moving around, so if you haven't been able to keep on top of all things Marvel, here's all you need to know about Phase 5, including release dates and confirmed cast.

(As ever, release dates are subject to change.)

Marvel Phase 5 release dates: What is the current Phase 5 timeline?

Phase 5 continued in January 2024 with the release of Echo and previous Phase 5 movie The Marvels is now on Disney+.

There's plenty more to come, but following the recent release date delays, here's how the timeline stands as of February 2024.

July 26, 2024Deadpool & Wolverine
Autumn 2024 Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (previously titled Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Agatha: House of Harkness)
February 14, 2025 Captain America: Brave New World (previously titled Captain America: New World Order)
May 2, 2025
Thunderbolts
TBC Daredevil: Born Again
TBC Ironheart
TBCEyes of Wakanda
TBC – Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
TBC
X-Men '97

We don't officially know for sure that Thunderbolts is back in Phase 5, but now that it's switched release dates with The Fantastic Four, we're going to assume that it is the final movie of Phase 5 as originally planned.

We don't have confirmed dates for every upcoming TV show in the list above, but since they're set to arrive in 2024 or 2025, then we're going to assume they're still part of Phase 5 for now.

We thought that Blade would be part of Phase 5, but its release date is now November 7, 2025, placing it after The Fantastic Four (July 25, 2025) which we think is still considered the first Phase 6 movie.

Marvel Phase 5 movies: Which movies are in Phase 5?

Phase 5 kicked off with a movie double-bill in February and May 2023 with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, respectively.

We had to wait a little longer than expected for The Marvels after its July 2023 release was pushed back to November 2023, but it's now available to watch on Disney+ if you missed it at the cinema.

In an unexpected move, Deadpool & Wolverine moved forward six months to May 2024 before being pushed back to July 2024.

It's currently set to be the only MCU movie released in 2024, but we're sure the fact that it brings back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine should give Marvel fans enough to get excited over next year.

The movies side of Phase 5 continues with Captain America: Brave New World, which will bring Anthony Mackie back as Sam Wilson, aka the new Captain America.

It will also see Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler reprise their roles from The Incredible Hulk as Samuel Sterns and Betty Ross, respectively, while the legend that is Harrison Ford is making his MCU debut as the recast Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross.

And then if we're right, Thunderbolts is back as the closing movie of Phase 5, bringing back former MCU characters such as Florence Pugh's Yelena Boleva and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes.

Marvel Phase 5 TV shows: Which TV shows are in Phase 5?

The TV side of Phase 5 kicked off with Secret Invasion, which turned out to be a bit of a dud despite featuring the MCU debuts of Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman as G'iah and Sonya Falsworth, respectively.

We've also had the second season of Loki which brought back Tom Hiddleston as Loki and ended with the multiverse being created, the impact of which we've already seen play out in other Phase 4 and Phase 5 movies and TV shows.

Hawkeye spin-off Echo was the first TV release of 2024, following the festive release of What If...? season 2.

After debuting in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominique Thorne will return as Riri Williams in Ironheart. Other cast members confirmed include Anthony Ramos and Alden Ehrenreich, but we don't yet know who they're playing.

The final two TV shows of Phase 5 are WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, which will bring back Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, and the long-awaited Daredevil reboot which is fittingly titled Daredevil: Born Again.

As mentioned above, we don't have any confirmed release dates for those three shows as of February 2024.

You can catch up on almost all of the MCU to date on Disney+.
