Hasbro has teamed up with Amazon Prime to make a version of the eternally popular Game of Life board game based on the streaming service’s Emmy-winning comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Available exclusively on Amazon starting Dec. 1 — five days before the premiere of Season 3 — the Mrs. Maisel edition of Life recreates the vibrant colors and decor of the title character’s life in ’50s era New York City.
As in the traditional version of Life, this special edition has branching narratives that can lead to success... or failure. That’s not unlike Midge Maisel’s own career, which has had its ups and downs since she first accidentally found herself onstage telling jokes. Over the course of the series, she has played the Village and the Catskills and is about to embark on a whirlwind tour of the U.S. and Europe, even as her chosen profession impacts her personal life and professional relationships.
Depending on how you spin the wheel, your own board game life will bring you riches or leave you ruined. Worse still, your jokes could totally bomb, which for a stand-up comic is a nightmare worse than a lifetime of instant ramen dinners.
