A new trailer has landed for upcoming crossover film The Marvels, and it finally clears up the confusing Ms Marvel post-credits scene.

The original credit scene saw Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel unexpectedly swap places after Kamala used her powers – leaving fans and the two superheroes similarly confused.

However, the new trailer has finally cleared up the mystery, confirming that Zawe Ashton's villain Dar-Benn is responsible for Kamala and Carol Danvers switching places.

Explaining the reason behind the sudden teleportation, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) reveals that Dar-Benn has been able to interfere with the trio's light powers, causing them to swap places whenever they're used.

As fans will remember, each of the three superheroes is able to manipulate and use the power of light. The villain's meddling means it's now almost impossible for the trio to use their supernatural abilities without major inconvenience.

Currently set for a November release, the film also features an appearance from Secret Invasion's Nick Fury with The Marvels' plot following on from the events of the current Disney+ series.

Meanwhile, Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers actress Brie Larson recently revealed the difficulties of filming with a cat due to her allergies.

The new film will see the return of Carol's feline companion Goose, an alien who closely resembles an adorable ginger cat. However Larson's severe cat allergy meant that all of her scenes with the animal are actually created using CGI.

"A lot of the CGI budget goes towards me and the cat," Larson told Entertainment Weekly of the filming process.

The Marvels has a release date of November 10, 2023. Captain Marvel is streaming on Disney+ and available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download.
