It’s rare to see Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on the red carpet these days, but when they step out, it’s always for a good cause. At last night’s Youth America Grand Prix 20th Anniversary Gala, New York’s creative community honored the future of dance and the sisters were front and center. Longtime supporters of the nonprofit which offers scholarships to dancers from around the globe, they served as this year’s event chairs, arriving at Lincoln Center’s David Koch Theatre in monochromatic pieces from The Row.

They each put their own twist on 90s style minimalism; for Ashley that meant relaxed suiting and extra-long trousers, with Mary-Kate sporting a black overcoat, alligator Margaux purse from their luxe range of handbags, and red mules. Amid the big gowns and the tutus, their twinning moment stood out. As always, the sisters managed to coordinate while still maintaining individuality, both staying true to the understated aesthetic they’ve favored for more than a decade.
