Maryland motorcyclist dies after crash in Seaford Saturday night

A 59-year-old motorcyclist from Hebron, Maryland, died after a collision with a Chevy Silverado in Seaford on Saturday evening, according to the Delaware State Police.

The state police investigation found that at around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, a 33-year-old man was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 north on North Market Street (Route 13A). As he was attempting to make a left turn at a Y-intersection to continue traveling north on North Market Street, police said his vehicle struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that had entered the Y-intersection.

The 59-year-old driver of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

The 33-year-old driver of the Silverado was not injured.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit's initial investigation closed North Market Street at South Front Street for almost three hours while the crash was investigated and the roadway cleared.

Police said they continue to investigate this crash and are asking witnesses to call Master Cpl. Argo at 302-703-3264.
